Transit police arrest bank robbery suspect at Canada Line station

Transit police are being credited for the arrest of a suspected bank robber at a Canada Line station.

The alleged thief was spotted at the Georgia and Howe Street TD bank just before 10 a.m. on Saturday.

Witnesses say he took off with a duffle bag full of cash and then hopped on the Canada Line at the Olympic Village station.

Vancouver police alerted transit officers who spotted a man matching the suspect’s description.

Shortly after, officers arrested the man and claim to have found a large knife hidden in his bag.

Charges are pending.
