Police release video of suspect in 2004 murder

CALGARY – Police have released more information about a murder from 2004, in hopes of finding the man responsible.

Police say 23-year-old Shane Johnson was stabbed in a parking lot in the 1200 block of 1st Street S.W., near NYLA nightclub.

He was found by officers around 3 a.m. on Sunday January 25th.

Although police rushed Johnson to hospital, he died a short time later.

Investigators believe Johnson left NYLA after he had a verbal argument with another man.

As he and his friends walked into a nearby parking lot, Johnson became separated from the group.

Police allege it was at that point, that a man came up behind Johnson and stabbed him.

Investigators describe the suspect as being 5’8” tall, 120 lbs., and say he was wearing a green jacket and running shoes at the time.

Police have now released a video of the suspect.

They believe he went to the Greyhound bus station on Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2004, and purchased a ticked under the name Yosef. Police say he also goes by the name “T” or “Tyson.”

In the video, the suspect can be seen wearing a long, dark-green jacket with yellow lining and a white doo-rag.

Police are also looking to speak with two other people who are seen with him in the video.

One is described as a male wearing a grey hoodie with the hood pulled up. The other is described as a female wearing dark clothing and a dark doo-rag.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
