One year of Curiosity in 2 minutes

TORONTO – NASA’S Jet Propulsion Laboratory has released a two-minute video chronicling almost a year’s worth of work on Mars by the Curiosity rover.

The Mars Science Laboratory — known by its more popular name, Curiosity — landed on Mars in spectacular fashion on Aug. 6, 2012.

Since then, the rover has been trundling across the Martian surface, gathering data and analyzing samples in an effort to determine whether or not Mars was at one time conducive to life.

During its mission, Curiosity has found evidence of an ancient stream bed on the planet. An analysis of rock samples also found that ancient Mars could have supported living microbes.
