High River was among the worst hit areas of the 2013 floods. Many residents in the town still don’t feel they’re being fairly compensated by the provincial government. Opposition Leader and MLA for that riding, Danielle Smith, discusses the issue.

Energy East pipeline

Calgary-based TransCanada has decided to go ahead with its Energy East pipeline. The project will see crude oil transported from Western Canada to as far east as New Brunswick. It will cost about $12 billion. The pipeline has been backed by premiers but faces opposition from environmental groups. University of Alberta energy economist Richard Dixon offers some insight.
