TORONTO – Barrie police are reminding residents to be aware of a backyard burglar stealing women’s bathing suits.
Authorities say the thefts are concentrated in the city’s south west end and the most recent occurrence happened on July 27.
It is alleged a male was lurking in a backyard at a Speir’s Road home when a male resident reportedly saw the individual and chased him away.
The victim tells police that women’s bathing suits were stolen from his backyard on four separate occasions, while another resident on Emm’s Drive told officers of a similar incident last month when a female bathing suit drying outside by a pool was stolen.
The male suspect is described as five-foot-six to five-foot-eight inches tall with a slim build.
Anyone with information about these cases are urged to call the Barrie Police Service at (705) 725-7025 or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
