Tracy Nagai was recruited to the Global Lethbridge team in April 2008 as a video journalist. Over the course of the last year she has been reporting on the issues and events that surround the growing southern Alberta community.
Born in Banff, AB and raised in Calgary, Tracy has always had a flare for current affairs that affect the world around her. After graduating in 2005 from the broadcast program at Mount Royal College in Calgary, Tracy worked for CityTV as a segment producer and news writer. Eager to get away from the desk and out in to the frontlines with a camera she accepted a position up in Northern British Columbia in Dawson Creek where she cut her teeth as a television producer, full time reporter and anchor for local station CJDC TV News.
Living life in a highway town was a great opportunity for her to get the rhythm of small town life but it wasn’t long before she relocated to Edmonton to work for The Energy News, a web-based production company that focused on the burgeoning oil industry in Alberta. Reporting on everything surrounding Alberta’s main resource she worked hard to deliver the news from both environmental and political angles.
With invested interest in reporting on real people with real issues, Tracy has fit right in with the dynamic Global Lethbridge family reporting every night for the News at 6.
