CALGARY – Police have one person in custody after a truck smashed into the front of the Calgary Courts Centre on Monday morning.
Officers say it appears the driver travelled down a sidewalk parallel to the 7th Avenue CTrain line around 4 a.m., before crashing the pickup into windows on the south-facing wall of the building.
No one was hurt in the crash.
Police say the driver is known to them, but don’t yet have a motive.
The truck was removed from the building by mid-morning, and although one entrance had to be closed because of the damage sustained, operations continued on as usual.
Alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
Charges are pending against the driver.
