TORONTO – There may be further victims after a shooting left a man dead at a Brampton banquet hall overnight, according to a statement released by police.
Peel Regional Police confirm that at about 4:15 a.m. officers responded to calls of gunfire at the Bovaird Banquet & Convention Centre, near Bovaird Dr & Hurontario St.
Upon arrival, police encountered a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the chest.
Witnesses tell Global News they heard the sound of gunfire and people at the party began running away. A security guard performed CPR on the victim until emergency crews arrived.

Ricky Ricardo Dunkley, 25, of Hamilton, was pronounced dead on scene.
The case is currently being investigated by Peel Regional Police Homicide and Missing Persons Bureau investigators.
A number of witnesses were held for questioning and one man was detained, but Peel Police say they are still searching for suspects.

Authorities say that a blood trail found at the crime scene indicates there could be another casualty, and are urging the public to come forward with any information they may have.
It is unknown exactly what type of party was underway at the banquet hall, or how many guests were in attendance at the time of the shooting.
