Single northbound lane of George Massey Tunnel reopened after leak

Metro Vancouver’s George Massey Tunnel was closed to northbound traffic for more than an hour during the Friday commute, amid a water leak.

A single northbound lane reopened around 4:15 p.m.

Southbound traffic was initially restricted to a single lane, but has since reopened fully.

DriveBC said the issue was caused by an oversized vehicle striking a sprinkler head at the north end of the tunnel.
