Body pulled from river in 1989 ID’d as Prince George man missing 24 years

The family of a Prince George man missing for 24 years finally got some closure Friday after the BC Coroners Service identified a body found in the Fraser River in 1989.

After a lengthy investigation, the man was identified as Brian Carman Law, 29, who went missing from Prince George in May of 1989.

His body was recovered from the Fraser River in Coquitlam later that year, but remained unidentified, even after extensive efforts by police and coroners.

Modern forensic analysis and an enhanced identification model allowed for Law to be identified 24 years later.

Law’s family has been identified.

His cause of death was not released.
