CALGARY – Okotoks residents were asked to take shelter in a basement or reinforced structure on Wednesday night, after a tornado touched down.
The twister hit land near the Air Ranch Airport in Okotoks and began moving southeast at 20 km/h.
People in the area were told to stay safe in low-lying areas, and put as many walls between themselves and the storm as possible.

There have been no reports of any damage.
Okotoks is located about 40 kilometers south of Calgary.
