Firefighters and city engineers closed off a busy arterial in the Downtown Eastside today due to a building showing signs of collapse.
The three storey building at 451 Powell Street across from Oppenheimer Park was condemned and apparently vacant. An abandoned retail storefront sits below two floors of apartments.
