Esther joined Global Saskatoon in November of 2002 but her trip into the world of broadcasting began years before.

“Ive always had a love of sports, and after trying every way possible of getting my feet wet, my opportunity came at the local community station in Edmonton to do play-by-play for the Judo Championships. I also did a little play-by-play for high school basketball. Thats all it took..I was hooked.”

After this rewarding experience, Esther headed straight for college and received her Associate of Arts in Broadcast Journalism from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology.

Esther then landed a part-time position at a radio station in Lethbridge reporting news, which led to anchoring the morning news and finally co-hosting the number 1 radio show in Southern Alberta.

Soon Global Television in Lethbridge came calling and it wasnt long before Global Saskatoon had offered Esther a position as sports reporter and weekend anchor.

“Needless to say my broadcasting career has been quite a journey, but I wouldnt change a thing,” says Esther.

Covering Wayne Gretzkys final game in Calgary before he retired has was one of Esthers career hilites. But just as exciting and closer to Esthers heart was having the opportunity to cover the U of S Huskies football team at the Vanier Cup in Hamilton.

While Esther loves many sports, tennis and golf keep her busy and in touch with the community.
