TORONTO – Hamilton police are appealing for information after a 55-year-old taxi driver was violently assaulted and robbed last week.
The alleged incident took place on July 16 at 11:30 pm after the taxi driver picked up two men and a woman at a grocery store on the corner of Upper Paradise and Mohawk Road West.
The passengers were driven to a home address on Limeridge Road West when they told the driver they didn’t have money and asked him to accompany them to one of their units to get cash.
After agreeing, the taxi driver was then thrown to the ground, assaulted and the three suspects fled the area with an undisclosed amount of money the victim had dropped on the ground.
A resident noticed the taxi driver and called 9-1-1.
No suspect description is available and police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
