Homes are twisted and landscape a pile of debris after a tornado tore through parts of southwestern Manitoba Thursday evening.
A home in Souix Valley Dakota Nation was ripped from its foundation after the tornado through the area scattering homes and debris everywhere. 11 other homes in the area were damaged by the storm and winds, two people were taken to hospital.
“Things flying everywhere,” one resident told Global News. “When we got in, everybody was screaming. I looked back and I seen that house in the air.”
Marla Little’s roof was ripped off her home. Little was on her way to a neighbor’s house and cross right in the tornados path just minutes before it went through.
“I slowed down,” Little said. “There was lots of rain, you couldn’t see out the window.”
Environment Canada officials are out surveying the damage and confirmed today that the damaged was caused by an f1 tornado.
Natalie Hasell with Environment Canada said she estimates wind speeds of 100-130km/h tore through the area.

Kilometers away in Shilo, golfers were still on the fairways when the storm hit just before 7 p.m. on Thursday.
“I like thunderstorms,” said Katelyn, a resident of Shilo, “I get a kick out of it but I was nervous.”
Crews spent Friday rushing to get the golf course back in order.
An estimated 200 trees we uprooted or split in half, but people in Shilo say luckily the landscape was the only victim.
Sioux Valley residents are try to gather up their lives the First Nation. They are asking for volunteers and donations to the families get back on their feet.
