WATCH: One woman dead, toddler rescued from fiery crash

ENDERBY – A 49-year old woman is dead after her mini-van crashed head-on with a semi-truck on Highway 97-A south of Enderby. It happened just south of the drive-in theater at 4:05 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.

The BC Coroners Service has identified the victim as Peggy Irene Ann Armstrong of Enderby.

Witnesses tell police the mini-van was weaving, crossed the centre line and collided with a semi-truck.

The van spun out of control and the left side of the vehicle burst into flames.

RCMP say witnesses pulled a two year old boy from a car seat from the back of the van, but were unable to remove the driver before the fire spread.

The mini-van driver, a 49-year old woman from Enderby, died on scene. Her name has not been released.

The 36-year old semi-truck driver was taken to hospital where he was treated for broken wrists.
