SASKATOON – Severe thunderstorms along with multiple tornadoes struck southern and central Saskatchewan on Monday.
Environment Canada says a low pressure system with an associated dryline and cold front moved across the province yesterday. Severe thunderstorms produced significant winds and golf ball sized hail as they developed in the warm and humid airmass.

According to preliminary reports received by the federal agency, tornadoes were spotted near the communities of Gray, Kronau, Rosthern, Yorkton, Humboldt and Hague.
Around 4:50 p.m., storm chasers @WXWatchersSK near Hague, Saskatchewan witnessed a tornado forming.
Severe thunderstorms then moved into Manitoba where a few wind gusts exceeded 80 km/h.

Environment Canada says sunny skies and cooler temperatures are expected today in southern Saskatchewan as a ridge of high pressure builds into the area.
