Gallery: Memorial for Cory Monteith outside hotel where he died

Dozens of fans of Cory Monteith have showed up to the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel, where the actor was found dead on Saturday, to pay their respects to the 31-year-old.

Fans have dropped off flowers, cards, teddy bears, and letters.

One of the people dropping off flowers was Monteith’s cousin Richard.

He was too upset to talk for long, but did stop for a few moments before leaving saying he last saw Cory just a couple of months ago.

Monteith, best known for his work on the hit TV show Glee, was found dead on Saturday in his room on the 21st floor.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

It is not known why he was in town, but he spent the night with friends before heading back to his hotel room alone early Saturday morning. When he failed to check out on time, staff went up to his room and found him dead.
