New moon found around Neptune

TORONTO – The Hubble Space Telescope has found yet another moon orbiting Neptune, bringing the total moons around the gas giant to 14.

The moon, currently called S/2004 N 1, is so small that the Voyager 2 spacecraft, which flew past the planet in 1989, didn’t detect it. It is estimated to be only 19 km across, making it the smallest of Neptune’s moons.

Neptune is the eighth planet in our solar system and is currently 4.3 billion kms from Earth.
