A directive had been issued by the federal agency to stop the flow of saline water from Houghton Lake into Lenore Lake.

The WSA challenged the directive in federal court and issued a claim for damages in the Court of Queen’s Bench.

With the agreement, legal challenges at the lake near Humboldt, Sask. are now resolved.

Future flooding issues that impact the province’s fish and fish habitat will be addressed through discussion and joint agreement.
