BADDECK, N.S. – The SPCA in Nova Scotia is waiting for veterinary reports on five dogs that were taken from a farm resort in Cape Breton.
The society is looking into claims of animal cruelty at the Crown Jewel Resort Ranch in Baddeck.
Executive director Kristin Williams says the claims involve farm animals and sled dogs.
Williams says five dogs are still on the property of the popular getaway.
She says the Agriculture Department is also involved in the investigation.
On its website, the ranch is described as an eco-resort with a private nature reserve.
