PENTICTON, BC — A 30 ft cabin cruiser smashed into the Kiwianis Walking Pier last night at about 10:30 pm.
There were several people on the dock, including those who were sitting on the bench where the boat landed.
Fortunately, people were alert and avoided the oncoming boat without any injuries.
RCMP took a breathalyzer test and the 40 year old Penticton man’s blood alcohol level was at the legal limit, but RCMP are considering charges.

The boat suffered minor damage.
The dock is closed indefinitely while it is being checked for structural issues.
The boat’s owner, insurance company and city will pay for the pier’s damages.
