TORONTO – Canadian hockey player Joffrey Lupul bares all in the 2013 issue of ESPN The Magazine.

The Alberta-born Toronto Maple Leafs player is one of the athletes featured in the annual Body Issue, which hits newsstands on Friday.

“Hockey players are known to have big asses; it’s tough to find pants that fit,” Lupul, 29, told the publication. “I don’t need custom-made pants, though there are certain brands that fit better. And I have to do a couple of deep squats in my jeans before I wear them out or they won’t look quite right.”

Lupul credits his physique, in part, to his mother Carmen. “She’s in the gym three or four days a week and at yoga a couple days a week,” he explained. “Like me, she loves sports and challenging herself.”

Other athletes who dared to bare for the Body Issue include the NFL’s Vernon Davis, Mets pitcher Matt Harvey, soccer’s Sydney Leroux and 77-year-old golf legend Gary Player.
