TORONTO — An aspiring ballet dancer says he is getting plenty of support after revealing that he was cut from the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School (RWBS) for moonlighting in porn.

“You give me inspiration and pride to be the artist and the person I need to be,” Jeppe Hansen posted on Twitter late Tuesday.

Hansen claims he was asked to leave the RWBS in late March when administrators learned he had started appearing in adult videos under the name Jett Black.

On Twitter, Hansen says he did not agree to any morality conditions when he signed on with the RWBS but he doesn’t plan to pursue legal action.

Hansen says he has heard from other dancers at the RWB since being asked to leave. “They are very confused with the situation,” he tweeted. “It makes it difficult to know when they cross a line.”

The 22-year-old year is now living in New York City, where he works for the adult video company Cockyboys. Described as an artist who “loves to move his body and perform in front of other people,” Hansen appears in videos both by himself and engaged in sex acts with other males.

A native of Denmark, Hansen studied dance around the world — including with Les Grands Ballet Canadiens in Montreal — before earning a scholarship to join the RWBS last September.

The school trains more than 1,200 students a year and boasts on its website of being “internationally renowned for its exceptional teaching staff and commitment to artistic excellence.”

The school is declining to comment on Hansen’s allegations, citing privacy.

“As a supporter of the RWB, I am angered and now rethinking my support,” tweeted @jodidash.

Toronto-based filmmaker Bruce LaBruce reached out to Hansen to propose a collaboration. “Why don’t we do a porn ballet? You star, I’ll direct. Possible title: The Nutcracker.”
