SALMON ARM, BC – Two motorcyclists are in hospital with serious injuries as a result of separate crashes on the Trans Canada in Salmon Arm over the weekend.
The first incident happened at around 1 p.m. Saturday on Highway 1 and Balmoral Road where a pick-up truck failed to yield before striking a motorcycle. The rider, a 49 year-old Shuswap resident, was rushed to hospital with severe injuries to the head and leg.
The second crash happened at around 7 p.m. Sunday on Highway 1 at 30th Street where a pick-up truck failed to yield before hitting a motorcyclist. The 54 year-old rider suffered head and leg trauma. He’s from Abbotsford and is listed in critical condition.
