The Rawlco Centre for Mother Baby Care officially opened its doors Tuesday for moms across the province.
The new centre creates a one-stop shopping experience for mothers looking for labour and birth services, a neonatal intensive care unit and services for mothers and their newborns.
The centre comes in thanks in part to a $28.4 million provincial grant towards the construction of the building.
"The opening of this centre reassures me that we are giving our children the best possible start in life," Health Minister Don McMorris said in a news release.
The Regina Qu’Appelle Health Region oversaw the three-year redevelopment project, which was split into six stages to allow construction to take place with minimum disruption of existing services.
New equipment and furnings were funded through the Hospitals of Regina Foundation’s Small is Big campaign.
Six million dollars in total was raised for the centre.
