REGINA- “Fresh & Sweet” will soon be featured on the Food Network Show “You Gotta Eat Here.”

The show travels across the country finding the best comfort food. The crews came to Regina on Sunday for their first time, shooting 2 full days for their third season.

“I think more exposure is awesome, but at the end of the day if you do just what you know is right and you do what you love, you’re good, and you’ll always be good,” said Betta Tompson, owner of Fresh & Sweet

It’s the first time a National show is shining a spot light on a Regina restaurant and that’s heating up the competition.

“It seems like every time there is a new or great restaurant in town, it brings up the level of the restaurant. They know they need to because people will flock to what they love,” said John Catucci, host of “You Gotta Eat Here”

Dryden Beniot is the manager at Birmingham’s pub, which has been open for 3 months. Beniot believes their food is a hidden gem. “Its going to draw people in for sure, the city needs places like this- new things.”

New things like “Skip The Dishes” – a third party company that allows you to order take out from over thirty different restaurant online or via text.

It’s a new concept the owners hope will pick up in the prairies. “Normally a company like us would start off in Toronto or New York city but because we are from the prairies and know how much growth we are having, we decided- hey why not try out where we are most comfortable,” said Joshua Simair, co-founder of Skip The Dishes.

It’s a celebration of culinary entrepreneurs who say passion is their main ingredient.

“It’s really great to see what you can do. If you put all your heart and all your love into something and just to watch it come to life,” said Tompson
