A popular park in Regina was given new life over the weekend.
Major renovations to Candy Cane Park were unveiled Sunday. The park, which has entertained generations worth of children over the last 30 years, received a new playground set with a special area for physically challenged children. There is also a new drainage system and new landscaping.
Bernadette McIntyre from Wascana Centre Authority said the renovations were necessary.
“It had gotten fairly run down and most of the structures were no longer safe because there are very high standards now for playground structure,” she said.
