Several hundred people have been forced from the northern Saskatchewan homes due to smoke from forest fires in the area.
Residents of Stony Rapids and Black Lake are dealing with a forest fire that is moving closer to the community. With it comes heavy smoke. Those being evacuated are mostly mothers, children and elderly residents.
In 2008, many people were evacuated from the area after dozens of forest fires affected the communities of Stony Rapids, Sandy Bay, Pelican Narrows and Dechambeault Lake.
Stony Rapids and Black Lake are close to the Saskatchewan-Northwest Territories border.
