More than 100 people living north of Dauphin, Man., had to be evacuated on Sunday night after fires near the community, according to the Canadian Red Cross.
The people are members of Pine Creek First Nation.
Jason Small from the Canadian Red Cross said the organization provided support virtually, at a distance, to members of the community.
He says members stayed in Dauphin overnight; the province says most are returning to the community by Monday evening.
The province adds there are multiple fires burning in the area of Camperville and Pine Creek.
Wilfred Chartrand is the Camperville Fire Chief and he says Pine Creek is still working to control the fire, but in Camperville things are contained.
Photos from the area show a water bomber plane helping with the efforts and thick smoke in the air.
The province says the risk of wildfires is currently high across the southern and central regions in Manitoba.
As a wildfire prevention measure, all provincial burn permits issued are suspended immediately and no other permits will be issued until further notice.
