CALGARY- Bus loads of volunteers are arriving in High River, full of people ready to get dirty.
The town south of Calgary is facing a massive cleanup, after flood waters ripped through communities, destroying homes and businesses.
This week, volunteers have been arriving from Calgary—a product of the grassroots movement ‘Mission Possible’ that began with the cleanup in downtown.
“We’ve had community after community sending people and buses, and they’ve done that on their own dime,” explains Anil Karim, organizer of ‘Mission Possible 2.’
Shuttles were organized to get people to High River, and even some fellow flood victims showed up to help.

“Our basement flooded so we dealt with that, and felt we needed to give more to another community,” explains Tara Funk.
“I like getting dirty, but I feel bad for them because, look at that basement,” adds Trey Funk. “It’s all mud.”
It’s believed that the cleanup could take months.
Buses for volunteers depart every two hours from Bishop O’Byrne High School and Mount Royal University.
