TORONTO – A number of homes were temporarily evacuated after a fire broke out in Brampton Thursday morning.
Crews got the call around 5:20 a.m. and discovered a fire at a home under construction on Viewmount Crescent, which also spread to two other residences nearby.

Those houses were evacuated as a precaution and no injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is unknown but initial estimate pegs the damage at over $600,000.
Brampton Fire Services says accidental fire has been ruled out.
The fire marshal’s office will be investigating.
