REGINA – A Regina developer wants the city to reconsider a name for a new commercial area.

The name is “Dethridge,” and a letter from Trif Holdings to the city’s urban planning commission says the moniker could hurt business.

The name comes from Stanley G. Dethridge, who became the chief engineer at a Regina power plant over a century ago.

The developer suggests “Longmore Bay” as an alternative.
