More B.C. firefighters are being sent to help fight wildfires in the Yukon, the Wildfire Management Branch announced Friday.
An additional 62 firefighters will join 12 others already in the Yukon. Thirteen B.C. personnel were also sent to Alaska to help with their fire activity.

The group headed north consists of two 20-person crews, five, three-person initial attack crews, one person from the Kamloops Fire Centre and six people from the Coastal Fire Centre.
They will be sent to Whitehorse and Dawson.
Crews can be deployed for up to 19 days, but can be recalled at any time.
The Wildfire Management Branch said that considering B.C.’s current fire forecast there are sufficient crews and resources to handle any activity.
