Calgary’s mayor Naheed Nenshi says his city has turned the corner on the destructive flooding, but says the city remains in a state of emergency and it will be some time before all evacuees can head home.
Officials say it could be midweek before access to the city’s downtown is fully restored.
Severe flooding in Alberta has claimed the lives of three people and displaced more than 175, 000 people across the province.
