Liberal MP Ruby Dhalla has resigned her position as opposition critic for youth and multiculturalism in the wake of allegations about the treatment of caregivers who worked for her family.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff said Dhalla would remain as MP for Brampton-Springdale.
"I look forward to a determination of the facts regarding her family’s experience with live-in caregivers," he said.
At Queen’s Park, opposition MPP’s were calling for the resignation of provioncial labour minister Peter Fonseca, saying he knew about the nanny allegations a couple of weeks ago.
Interim PC leader Bob Runciman said it is “Liberal favouritism”.
