Several homes and businesses have been flooded and the fire department has been forced to move its emergency vehicles out of the fire hall.

At 4 p.m. Friday the water was waste deep behind Super A supermarket.

The village of Lumby has closed Shuswap Avenue south of Highway 6.

Motorists are having to use Duremeadow Road to access the Whitevale area.
