Schroeder Creek Resort campground on Kootenay Lake was evacuated Thursday afternoon after the creek broke its banks.
Manager of the campground, Randy Phipps, told Global News he was woken up at 2:30 a.m. after the creek first overflowed.
Highway crews came out and worked on it and did have it under control, but due to the heavy rains in the area, the creek overflowed again and the whole campsite has now been evacuated.
Phipps said the damage has wiped out a $300,000 motor home and a couple of boats are damaged.
