BURK’S FALLS, Ont. – Provincial police say a 14-year-old boy died in a snowmobile crash in Kearney, Ont., on Sunday.
Police say the boy was driving the motorized snow vehicle when he left the trail and struck a tree.
He was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.
He’s been identified as Mark Ramolla of Springwater Township, Ont.,
The Barrie Minor Hockey Association expressed its condolences over Twitter on Monday afternoon.
“Marky Ramolla, passed away yesterday,” the tweet says.
“He was just shy of his 15th bday on Feb. 24. Marky shared a love of hockey with his team from Jr. Colts to M. Bantam. Sending deepest condolences to Lisa(mom), Mark (dad) & Emily (sister).”
Police say they’re continuing their investigation into the crash.
