A young man has died at a school under construction in the Summerside subdivision of Edmonton.
Paramedics were called to the two story construction site on Thursday afternoon.
According to early reports, the victim may be a 23-year-old man working for Island Industries Ltd.
The man was an iron worker, and was in the basket of an aerial working platform securing joists. It appears that one of the joists came loose, striking the worker, who died on scene.
A stop work order has been issued for the construction of the building.
Occupational Health and Safety has been called to the scene.
Access to the scene has been shut off to the public.
