A couple from Peace River, Alberta have been arrested for trying to smuggle what is suspected to be cocaine into Canada.
On Sunday, a man and woman were trying to cross at the Coutts border crossing when authorities found two kilograms of what they believe to be cocaine. A false compartment containing four bundles of the substance was found. If verified, the drugs would be worth an estimated $200,000.
Jacob and Aganetha Fehr were arrested and turned over the RCMP. They have been charged with importation of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
They are scheduled to appear Lethbridge Provincial Court on January 31st.
