TORONTO- After years of performing and competing as a gymnast, Jen Georgopoulos decided to make a career out of stunt performing and the circus arts.
As a acrobat and aerialist, Jen wanted to share her love of performing and perfecting tricks with others by opening her very own circus school – The Circus Academy.
“The Circus Academy is a circus training studio for people of all ages and all levels of circus abilities,” said Georgopoulous.
Operated by professional circus performers, the academy is passionate about creating, teaching and performing the circus arts. Each year Jen and her team of coaches instruct close to 900 students of all ages.

Whether it’s flexibility training, circus fitness or hula hoop classes, everyone who attends the academy gets the opportunity to express themselves in unique ways while making friends and building confidence.
“I was getting older and I found myself getting stiffer and I wanted to retain and regain some of the flexibility that I had my youth,” said Matthea Den Boer, a student of The Circus Academy.
The Circus Academy attracts international acts such as Donna MacLean, a professional clown and aerialist.
“I’m from Bristol in the U.K and I teach Humanities at the University of Bristol, but I also organize circus events in the city of Bristol,’ MacLean said.
Maclean said about three and half years ago she couldn’t touch her toes but her body has completely changed since then.
“My goal is to be this when I’m 86,” said MacLean
