TORONTO – The details of those charged in connection with last week’s raids across southern Ontario could be released Monday.
On Thursday, Toronto police, in conjunction with police forces across southern Ontario, launched a raid dubbed “Project Traveller” aimed at a street gang in northwest Toronto.
Police arrested 28 people during Thursday’s raids and seized over $500,000 and approximately $3 million in drugs.
The streetgang, the “Dixon Bloods” or the “Dixon Goonies,” operated in northwest Toronto near Kipling Avenue and Dixon Road.
The focal point of the raids was a large apartment complex at 320 Dixon Road.
On Friday, police said the 43 people arrested as part of their investigation could face upwards of 300 charges including trafficking in weapons and drugs, attempted murder and murder.
Some of those murder charges, police said, are linked to the shooting death of 21-year-old Anthony Smith who was gunned down outside of a nightclub in March.
