A 3-year-old girl is dead after drowning on a Manitoba First Nation.
RCMP were dispatched to the Cross Lake First Nation at approximately 6:30 p.m. Friday.
Officers discovered two 3-year-old girls unresponsive in the water.
Emergency responders were able to resuscitate one of the girls and transport her to hospital. The other girl was pronounced dead on the scene.
Her name is not being released by RCMP.
It is not known how the girls ended up in water or exactly where the incident took place.
Cross Lake First Nation is approximately 775 kilometres north of Winnipeg.
