Regina police deem death on Dewdney Avenue city’s 4th homicide

UPDATE: The Regina Police Service has deemed Friday’s death on Dewdney Avenue a homicide – the city’s fourth of 2020.

Rodney Troy Ruberry, 49, was found critically injured inside a home in the 4400 block of Dewdney Avenue shortly before 3:30 p.m. He was taken to the hospital by EMS at about 4:30 p.m. where he was pronounced dead.

Police say they haven’t made any arrests and have no suspects at this time.

Ruberry’s family has been notified.

Police are investigating the death of a man who was found critically injured at a Regina residence Friday.

Police responded to the 4400 block of Dewdney Avenue at around 3:20 p.m. for a property check.

The man was discovered in medical distress and transported to the hospital by EMS, police say.

At around 4:30 p.m. he was pronounced dead.

Officers continued to maintain security at the residence. The Saskatchewan Coroners Service has been brought in to assist with the investigation.
