CALGARY – Police were on scene of a serious collision in S.E. Calgary that injured an officer Tuesday morning.
Around 11:40a.m. a female officer driving a police cruiser collided with another vehicle near the intersection of 16th Avenue and 50th Street southeast. The officer was trapped inside her vehicle as a result of the crash.
She was freed transported to hospital by EMS suffering from serious non-life threatening injuries. She has since been treated and released from hospital.
The occupant of the other vehicle was not injured.
Roadways in the area were shut down while police investigated.
It is not yet clear what caused the crash.
