Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit investigating death in southeast after ‘disturbance’

The Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit is investigating after a man died following an altercation on Friday night in Radisson Heights.

An upstairs tenant of a fourplex called police after “she heard a disturbance between two downstairs occupants” in the 2500 block of 9 Avenue S.E. around 9:30 p.m., officers said.​

A man in his 40s, whose identity has not yet been released, was pronounced dead on scene, according to EMS officials and police.

An autopsy was scheduled for Monday.

CPS said the other person involved in the altercation, a 39-year-old man, was taken into custody.

Police said Monday that charges have not yet been laid, adding that the man who was taken into custody has since been released.

Homicide investigators have been called in, and the investigation is underway.
