What was thought to be a suspicious package on the Queen of Oak Bay turned out to be a false alarm.

West Vancouver Police boarded the vessel after it docked at Horseshoe Bay en route from Nanaimo. The suspicious package was located in cafeteria, however investigators found nothing suspicious.

Sailings from Horseshoe Bay are scheduled to resume at 3:10 p.m.

The Queen of Oak Bay is famous for slamming into the Horseshoe Bay Marina in 2005. No one was injured but several boats and the marina were extensively damaged.

It was later discovered a missing cotter pin was to blame for the accident.
