Man seriously burned in explosion in Olalla

OLALLA — A big boom shook the Southern BC settlement of Olalla late Sunday evening.

The explosion, caused by a propane tank, sparked a large blaze seriously burning a man living on the property. He was flown to Vancouver General Hospital for treatment.

It happened on South Main Street, just off Highway 3A. Fire crews battled the blaze for nearly 4.5 hours before it was fully extinguished. A second man, also living on the property, sustained minor burns but didn’t need medical assistance.
