“Don Narcisse Day”, August 12th in Saskatchewan

He played 13-years with the green and white, is one of the greatest wide receivers to ever play with the team, and is an ’89 Grey Cup Champion. Don Narcisse left his mark not only on the Roughriders, but on the province as well.

In his honor, August 12th has been proclaimed “Don Narcisse Day”.

“I’m pleased to proclaim this special day in honour of number 80,” says SaskEnergy Minister Dustin Duncan.

Narcisse was the first KidSport ambassador from the Saskatchewan Roughrider. In 1998 he came up with the idea that for every football he caught during a game, SaskEnergy would make a charitable donation. Since then, “Catch For KidSport” has raised 374-thousand dollars.

“When I first started playing football, I always wanted to give back,” Narcisse told the crowd today via video conference.

From now until August 12, you can bid on a number of items and proceeds will go towards KidSport. For more information on the auction, click here.
